Faculty Showcase 2016

Enriching Courses through Digital Storytelling and Other Narrative Techniques

🕘  APRIL 10: 9:00AM-4:00PM 📍  Donna E. Shalala Student Center – 3rd Floor

Thank you for attending the second annual Faculty Showcase Event! This event would not have been possible without the assistance and dedication received from the University of Miami’s faculty and staff.

On May 9 2016, over 100 members of faculty and staff participated in the Faculty Showcase 2016, presented by faculty, for faculty. Based on a year-long pilot commenced in Fall 2015, funded by the Knight Foundation, we celebrated the use of Digital Storytelling and other Narrative Techniques. At the Faculty Showcase 2016, faculty across all disciplines will share their journey using narrative techniques in the classroom, providing their essential tips and practical experience. This mini-conference provided professors, lecturers, and others interested in educational technology, a platform to:

  • Discover how technology can increase student learning and engagement.
  • Learn about enriching courses through digital storytelling and other narrative techniques.
  • Gain insight on the unique experience of teaching online from faculty that have been there.
  • Network and be part of the teaching and learning community here at UM.
