What Is PiE?
What Is PiE? Partners in Education (PiE) is a pedagogical partnership model in which undergraduate or graduate student consultants collaborate with faculty on course design, classroom teaching, and/or assessment. PiE positions students and faculty as co-creators while they share responsibility and decision-making, which differentiates the relationship and pedagogical partnership beyond the typical instructor-student hierarchy.
Who Leads This Work
This year PiE will be led by Writing Studies faculty and PETAL Faculty Fellow Kimberly McGrath Moreira.
Who Should Apply
We welcome applications from faculty across all university disciplines who are ready to bring a student voice directly into their teaching practice. Participants will be partnered with one undergraduate or graduate student partner who will be compensated by PETAL on their course redesign, assessment approach, or teaching practice.
Stipend
Selected participants will receive a $2,000 payroll stipend.
