We’re thrilled to announce the 12th annual Faculty Showcase, the University of Miami's teaching and learning conference. Led by faculty for faculty, the day brings colleagues together to share, network, and discover the ways they are enriching student experiences through innovative pedagogies and learning technologies. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and you are welcome to attend for the full day or any portion that fits your schedule. Join us on Friday, November 6th!

Please have the QR code scanner app from your cellphone ready to ensure a smooth check-in process on the day of the event. We will have a QR code for you to scan at the check-in table.  You will not need to print your ticket.

Overview

 

🚗  Parking and Transport: Parking is available for UM faculty and staff who have a valid parking pass for the Coral Gables campus. Metered parking is available in the Pavia parking garage (view campus map).

🍽  Food: Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided.

👥  Network and Learn: Prepare to interact with fellow faculty on topics related to teaching and learning throughout the Showcase!

Interested in presenting at the Faculty Showcase?

 

We invite the UM teaching community to submit proposals in two formats:

Learning Circles are small-group roundtable discussions on specialized teaching topics, with the presenter guiding the conversation. Several tables run concurrently in the Shalala Student Center across three 30-minute rounds. Each presenter leads two 30-minute discussion, including Q&A, and may share handouts or materials. Co-presenters are welcome.

Poster Sessions are new this year and offer a chance to display an innovative or impactful teaching strategy and discuss it informally with colleagues as they visit throughout the event. Posters are a great fit for sharing a course redesign, a classroom experiment, or early findings from pedagogical research. 

Submissions are due by September 29.
